Owner & Vice President of Coombs Development Corp.

As Founder and President, Greg manages all aspects of Coombs Development Corp’s commercial and residential development activities. A Vancouver native, Greg graduated from Western University in 1990 with a BA in Economics. After starting a successful landscaping company, he was regularly tapped by industry colleagues to help out on outdoor film sets. This slowly grew into a thriving business of its own, and Greg now enjoys a reputation as one of the Vancouver film industry’s premiere greenspersons. This success enabled him to pursue a lifelong passion for development. In 2005, Greg purchased the first of four commercial properties in downtown Vancouver, which he has transformed into beautiful, modern restaurant and retail spaces. In 2018, he purchased the site of his first residential development in Pemberton, BC. In his free time, Greg enjoys skiing our beautiful local mountains and surfing in Hawaii.

As co-owner and Vice President, Tanya handles property management for Coombs Development’s portfolio of commercial properties. Tanya graduated from Western University in 1994 with a BA in Business. She began her career in Toronto at one of Canada’s largest television production companies focused on consumer marketing. In 2006, Tanya returned to Vancouver to join TELUS during the launch of their TV service, and enjoyed 12 successful years there. But real estate and development is in her blood, and in 2018 she joined CDC full-time. Tanya enjoys spending time with her two sons, Jake and Tyler, and playing tennis.

3835 Main St.

3835 Main Street holds a special place in CDC’s portfolio as one of our first commercial developments. CDC performed site assessment, site acquisition, development services and project management of the development. The 27 ft. x 120 ft. site was purchased in 2007, posing unique design challenges. Originally a stage coach stop between Vancouver and New Westminster, the site was vacant for several years after a fire destroyed the original structure. Currently a two-storey restaurant, the site now acts as a community gathering spot and aided in the revitalization of the neighbourhood.

3950/58 Main St.

3950 & 3958 Main Street, Vancouver, BC was acquired early in 2012 as demand for new retail space along Main St. was at a premium. Main Street has been named “one of North America’s 15 coolest streets” by Cushman & Wakefield. The transition of the neighbourhood and its close proximity to 3835 Main St. made this redevelopment an easy decision. When purchased the site was occupied by a 1930’s converted residential structure, which had seen better days. The existing structure was demolished, recycled and a new state-of-the-art retail development constructed. Anchored by an award-winning restaurant and a local produce market the project has been warmly received. Email

2315/17 Cambie St.

2315/17 Cambie Street was purchased in 2009. At the time of purchase, the building was occupied by a used car repair shop. Originally built as a deisel engine repair shop by one of Granville Island’s logging companies, the site held considerable charm once uncovered from decades of neglect. The location was centre stage to the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games and benefitted from the rapid redevelopment of the area as the gateway to Vancouver. The property was restored and retrofitted with a modern retail frontage with special attention on keeping the heritage and workmanship of the original building visible. The surrounding area has experienced a building boom from rapid transit with some of the highest foot traffic in Vancouver.

2323/25 Cambie St.

2323/25 Cambie Street was purchased in 2014 and underwent a complete renovation to the existing structure. In a neighbourhood with rapidly changing demographics and increasing density, the decision was made to maximize retail exposure with a standalone building that was divided into two 2,200 sq.ft. retail spaces.
The property was stripped down to the core and rebuilt along with a complete re-energization. The site is adjacent to 2315 & 2317 Cambie Street so extra care was taken to create a building that would complement the neighbouring property. Email

Mountain Side

Mountain Side is a series of 30 modern farmhouse-style townhomes designed to complement the existing neighbouhood. There are 21 three-bedroom homes with larger units on the corners to frame the development. The homes range in size from 1,136 sq.ft to 1,551 sq.ft. Every unit has private outdoor space via a variety of porches and over-sized decks.

The homes are located within walking distance to the community centre, town centre, day care, schools and transit. Pemberton, B.C. is a special place which still retains an outdoorsy, small town feel. Located just a 2.5 hour drive from Vancouver and a 20-minute drive from the world famous Whistler/Blackcomb four seasons resort. Located in a vast green-belt valley in the Coastal Mountains, Pemberton is truly a gem.

The only way to do great work, is to love what you do.
